General Information

Our Junior team play in the Airedale Junior Cricket League and we currently run teams from under 9 to 13.

We are always on the lookout for new players, both boys AND girls, of all abilities – whether they have played the game before or not. We try to place the emphasis on “involvement for all,” with enjoyment being more important than “winning at all costs” during these formative years.

Junior training sessions start from 6pm at KECC and are just £2 per session.

Under 9's - training every Friday from 6pm and games on Sunday mornings.

Under 11's & 13's - training every Monday from 6pm and games on Friday evenings from 6pm.

In 2007, KECC attained "Club Mark" status. Club Mark is a cross-sport quality accreditation for clubs with junior sections. We are also one of only 25 ‘Focus Clubs’ in West Yorkshire, as appointed by the Yorkshire Cricket Board. As with Club Mark, this is in recognition of the work we already do with our juniors.

In 2009 we continue to take part in the 'Chance to Shine' scheme. This is part of a national initiative, backed by the Government and public donations, aimed at revitalising cricket in state schools. Again, the fact that we are one of only 22 clubs in Yorkshire to have been selected to take part in this indicates the high-quality work we do with junior cricketers.

Our training sessions are all run by ECB qualified coaches on Monday evenings throughout the summer, from 6pm. They involve Kwik Cricket, net sessions, fielding practice, and much more, with the emphasis placed on FUN!
