Great Weekend For Kirkstall - STOP IT!! 01 Jul 10

Last weekend was a great weekend for the whole club.

Firstly on Friday evening, our Under 13s won their first game of the season beating Leos. They were excellent and started off what ended a great weekend.

Saturday, the 1st team played at home to Guiseley for the second time this season having beat them in the cup early on. Once again a lovely pitch at the FOD and didnt capitalise as much as we could of done. We batted first and got 223 all out. Bill led from the front with an excellent knock of 77 to continue his run of form, leaving him just short of 500 runs at the halfway stage. Jos also played a good innings scoring 45 to keep him top of the batting stats with a total of 539 runs. Very NICE TA WATCH from the both of you. We took to the field and had to bowl and field well to stop Guiseley chasing the target set. They had an excellent start with Adam Waite once again scoring runs at the FOD, just imagine if he'd bat here every other week. But with some excellent bowling and fielding we managed to restrict Guiseley to 213 for 8. Jake Capper was the pick of the bowlers, bowling 22 overs and taking 6 wickets. Very well bowled Cat.

Sunday, the Under 15s won their first game of the season beating Hall Park by 2 wickets. Excellent performance on a very hot morning. The Under 9s also won by 90 runs. In the afternoon, the 1st X1 played Rawdon CC. Jos once again won the toss and batted first. We rocked up 260 with Jos scoring 50, Mickey Missett 89 and Paul Malone 33. (Stand of 120 for the 8th wicket) Once again, rubbish teas but this time rubbish teas outside under a gazeebo. Rawdon looked dead and buried at 149 for 7 however an excellent 100 run partnership from Stu Dobson and Scotty Harrison got them to 249 for 8. Rawdon went on to lose the further 2 wickets for just 7 runs. The Rawdon fans were devestated. There were about 20 KECC fans (1 being S. Hudson), 100 rawdon fans and 30 neutrals. KECC beat Rawdon CC by 4 runs and are in the semi-finals at home to Bilton CC on the 18th July.

VERY NICE TA WATCH - DATE FOR YOUR DIARIES 18th JULY SEMI FINAL V BILTON CC.
